Emer Gillespie is an actress, poet, screenwriter and Dante scholar who lives in London. I met her around the time she was making a splash with a role in the film, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. Her performance made an impression upon me on account of its truthfulness, the sleight of hand that disguised technique and the way her being transmuted the ugliness of the story into a strange kind of beauty. One of these days, I hope to see Emer on stage in one of my plays. Her collection of poems, entitled The Instinct Against Death, introduces her, to readers who do not know her work, to a singular voice that, seemingly effortlessly, reveals the emotions packed into a thought and the thoughts being borne by an emotion.
The audio clip below is my reading of Emer Gillespie's short, but impactful, "New Day."

Gemma and Olo are Polish born artists who live and work in the United States. Gemma is a virtuosa violinist and composer; Olo is an artist and cartoonist of equal virtuosity. They create multi-media stories for children that incorporate story, music, illustration and voice. I had the pleasure of narrating their story of a ghostly little girl named Strzyga. Gemma's and Olo's Web site is www.moonsecretbooks.us. A direct link to a sample of Strzyga can be found here: https://vimeo.com/ondemand/strzyga/325533895?autoplay=1
